All about focus!
The last few weeks have been a bit of a challenge. My vision is better (continuing with eye injections) but there are other health issues popping up that are really challenging me in efforts to choose joy. Honestly, it has been a struggle. This morning as I was trying to sort things out, I heard that still small voice that has become so familiar over the years. The answer was incredibly simple:
Change your focus.
In the last few weeks, I have been increasingly frustrated by what I seem to have lost - and I'm not even going to go into that, because it's not the point. I can keep looking back at those things, or I can look ahead and around me at all the blessings that are here, right in front of me. The frustrating things aren't permanent - they are temporal parts of this world. The eternal things? Nothing has changed there. God is still God, He is still good, and He still has a plan and a purpose!
That's true for all of us. No matter how frustrating the day may seem, God has this. In the end, we win! And it's up to us to decide how we will spend TODAY - covered in frustration or focused on the blessings that are all around us!
"Turn your eyes upon Jesus
Look full in His wonderful face
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim
In the light of His glory and grace"
Look full in His wonderful face
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim
In the light of His glory and grace"
God, help my focus to stay on you! And help me to choose joy!
