''Twas the night before surgery..."

I was thinking today - this will be the 10th (correction - just listed them and it's the 12th!!!) surgery that I've had since 2010. That's a lot of surgeries!! The first one was shoulder surgery - basically the same surgery I'm having tomorrow but on the other shoulder. 

I have the same surgeon as the last shoulder surgery, but the way he does things sure has changed since 2010! There are many more "comfort" steps now - I already have my pain meds, they are doing a nerve block before surgery and sending me home with a "cold compression therapy unit" instead of the packs of frozen vegetables that I used on my shoulder last time around. Very high tech!!

If you had told me in 2010 how many surgeries were ahead - and WHY - it would have frightened me. And I am definitely hoping that this is the last for awhile!!  :) But through all the crazy ups and downs of the past few years, the steadfast love of the Lord has never ceased and His mercies have been new every morning. I am so thankful for that assurance - that He is always with us!
