December 8, 2016

This has been a good news/bad news kind of week!
I had a sobering visit to the eye doctor on Monday. The condition I have often leads to central blindness. The best case scenario is that the injections slow down the process, but the vision I've lost will not return. The next injection is Dec. 22. The good news? It is only in one eye.
I found out on Tuesday that I have tears in the labrum and rotator cuff of my right shoulder. Repair surgery is scheduled for early January. The good news is that I had a similar surgery on my other shoulder several years ago and regained full range of motion.
Added to the already-scheduled surgery of next Monday, I have felt a little overwhelmed. It's taken me a couple of days to wrap my mind around the next few weeks.
Those are all facts, but here is truth. Here is the good news. We are so blessed by family and friends who love and encourage us, and I know that this will all work out just the way it's supposed to. God has a plan, He's not surprised by one bit of this and He can use it for His glory.
We can't choose what happens to us. We can always choose our attitude and our response. And I will continue to choose joy!
“Because you are my helper, I sing for joy in the shadow of your wings. I cling to you; your strong right hand holds me securely.” Psalms‬ ‭63:7-8‬ ‭NLT‬‬
