I was looking around my house today and thinking about how much words matter. We don’t even realize how much negative stuff we are around each day - the news, television, social media, etc. But as I looked at so many “word art” items in my house, it confirms what I already know.
What we think about and what we focus on makes a huge difference.
So many people have given me things related to JOY, and I think about it every day. God knew, back in January 2015 when I was losing my hair from chemo, that I would NEED to understand the importance of deciding how to think. And I don’t do it in a vacuum - choosing JOY, choosing to lean in and listen to what God is saying through His word and through music and prayer - it makes all the difference in dealing with circumstances I can’t change. It makes all the difference in the world!
“Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.” James 1:2-4 NLT
