I was reading the Bible app this morning; one of the things I love is that you can switch from one version or translation to another when reading.
I NEVER read the amplified version but somehow, today I ended up with it. I was reading Philippians 4:13 and thought “Wow, that’s a lot of words for a verse that is so simple to understand in other translations.” 49 words, to be exact.
I jumped to the New Living Translation and sure enough, the verse is 11 words.
At that moment, I promise you that I heard that still small voice, saying “kind of like the way you and Tony Boyd text and talk. 49 words for you, 11 words for him.” Wow!!! I am pretty sure that God reminding me in a humorous way that sometimes I need to use fewer words when I communicate, and to listen more. He cares about all aspects of our lives, if we are quiet enough to listen.
Kathy’s Version
“I can do all things [which He has called me to do] through Him who strengthens and empowers me [to fulfill His purpose—I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency; I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him who infuses me with inner strength and confident peace.]”. PHILIPPIANS 4:13 AMP
