My definition of “hero”?
Parents who are raising children with disabilities. I have seen firsthand the pain and loneliness of raising kids who aren’t “typical” - but I have also experienced the incredible blessing and fun of spending time with these same families.
People who DON’T have children in their lives who aren’t “typical” in some way - if your child has kids in their world with a disability, or if you have family or friends who have kids with a disability, I would encourage you to spend time with them. You will learn so much, get an enhanced perspective of the world, and make some awesome friends in the process!!
