March 10, 2019 - Struggling to find JOY

I’m hanging out at home. I’ve been dealing with a sore throat again and it is PAINFUL today. The oncologist is having me take an extra week’s break from the chemo pill to give blood counts time to recover; hopefully that plus new meds will help get rid of this stupid throat stuff.

I don’t know if it’s the weather or my throat or what - but I have been struggling to find joy the last few days. Nothing is wrong - I am so very thankful for our family and friends and the ability to rest and for our fun little kitten! But I think when the weather is gloomy (SO ready for the sun to stay!) and we don’t feel great, life can feel a little overwhelming to us all. I’m sure you can relate!!

In times like this, what a blessing to know that God hasn’t changed!! He’s not having a bad day. He is the same and He wants us to lean into Him for strength and comfort and joy.

That, my friends, is enough for me. 🙂

I hope everyone who is on spring break, has an awesome and restful time!!
“Let us, then, hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we have a great High Priest who has gone into the very presence of God — Jesus, the Son of God. Our High Priest is not one who cannot feel sympathy for our weaknesses. On the contrary, we have a High Priest who was tempted in every way that we are, but did not sin. Let us have confidence, then, and approach God's throne, where there is grace. There we will receive mercy and find grace to help us just when we need it.” ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭4:14-16‬ ‭GNB‬‬
