A great article about MBC (metastatic breast cancer) from a patient’s perspective. I’m so thankful for a great medical team and supportive friends and family. Not everyone has those blessings:
“When you’re diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer, there’s a road map: There are hundreds of other survivors who explain how the treatment will work and how to deal with your side effects. There’s a treatment plan with an end in sight...
But when I got my metastatic diagnosis, I felt completely alone. There was no plan, and no one to walk me through the treatments... It was staggering to me that the women who are diagnosed with the most advanced disease — the women who are the sickest, who are the most scared — have the fewest resources available.” - Lara MacGregor
