I am on a break from the chemo pill while waiting for white and red blood counts to come up. Heading back to Georgia for a quick check up on Wednesday, and right now, I feel good!!
Feeling so normal makes me want to do things - ideas are rolling out of my head and there are so many fun projects to accomplish! The only problem is, “medicine and probably radiation” are around the corner, so as I come up with brilliant ideas 😁 I am trying to make sure that I am handing them off - that someone else is as excited about them as I am and can actually make sure they happen.
I find myself in the land of in-between. Feeling normal but knowing that it won’t last. Fighting for my “old” identity, wanting to do things I used to do, not really wanting to be “Kathy with cancer”.
I came across this today - how perfect for this season!!
“Satan wants to steal your awareness of who you really are. While God’s purpose is to bring you life to the fullest, Satan has a plan for you to settle for so much less than what you were made for... NO MATTER THE STAGE WE’RE IN... [Kathy’s note - ANY stage!!] we can all learn more about who God made us to be by focusing on Him.” Kerry and Chris Shook
Focusing on Him. Looking at ourselves from His perspective. That is a challenge for me - probably for us all! Not focusing on the circumstances, on what we see, but focusing instead on God - on who He is and on how He sees us. I don’t know what this season will ultimately bring - but I know the one who DOES know. There is such freedom in that posture!! No pressure - just peace.
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” John 10:10 NIV
“No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:37-39 NIV
