September 14, 2018 - Masterpiece

First of all - I am fine. 🙂 I just want to give you a glimpse of the things I have thought the last 24 hours. And I bet most of you can relate and apply thoughts like this to situations that you are dealing with. But no worries - God always gives us peace and the assurance that He is here and He is in control. There is ALWAYS a happy ending - because our future is with Him!!
I think if I wrote a Psalm, it would look like this:
The Lament
After spending so much time in Georgia, it feels more comfortable than home. I’m winning there!! I am doing really well by their standards (that I have stage 4 cancer). But I come home and I’m around people who don’t have cancer and I am falling behind. I don’t have as much energy as I did; my head and heart want to do things but my body is too tired to take on much. A couple of errands and some laundry and a lunch out, and I’m done. Ready for a long nap. And that’s okay for today - but will this last forever??
I think the above paragraph sounds like something David wrote. “How long, Lord? How long?”
It’s so important to not let ourselves stay in that place. To understand that those might be the FACTS that we see, but the TRUTH is that God is creating something beautiful in the process.
I put together a play list that’s about two hours long, of all my favorite songs. This is just one of my favorites which has ministered to me.
Don’t let your brain tell you all is sad and all is lost. God DOES have a plan - just because we don’t see it or understand it yet, doesn’t mean it’s not happening. So thankful for His love for us!!
“Guess I'm your canvas
Beautiful black and blue
Painted in mercy's hue
I don't see past this
You see me now
Who I'll be then
There at the end
Standing there as
Your Masterpiece
You're shaping the soul in me
You're moving where I can't see
And all I am is in your hands
You're taking me all apart
Like it was your plan from the start
To finish your work of art for all to see
You're making a masterpiece
You're making a masterpiece”
